Fish al la Greek (Polish way)
Submitted by:Maciek Arkuszewski
Ingredients
- 4-5 carrots
- 2 parsley roots
- 1/2 of celery root
- 1-2 lemons
- tomato paste 4 tablespoons
- ocean fish filet of some sort (cod would be perfect, sole
will do)
- flour
- 1-2 eggs
- salt
- oil
Instructions
1) Shred carrots, parsley and celery root
2) Mix them and fry them a little on a pan
3) Put them in a pot with cover, heat until they collapse,
let the juice out and get salsa consistency. Stir
occasionally so they don't burn. Takes a loong time
4) Add tomato paste, salt, and lemon to suit your taste. It
should be mainly sweet, with a hunch of lemon and enough
salt to water your mouth.
5) Mix it all throughly while heating then let it settle
and cool down. There's your greek sauce.
6) cut fish into 1'x1'x0.5' pieces, rub them with salt
7) scrable egg or two, get flour on a plate, heat pan with
a little oil
8) dip every piece of fish in egg then in flour, fry it
both sides until it's good to eat.
9) Get the plate and put a thin blanket of greek sauce on
it
10) put fish on that plate, cover it generously with greek
sauce
11) Let it stand for couple of hours so fish soaks with
good stuff.
12) Serve hot or cold with boiled potatoes on the side
